Taking Matthew “modeskii” Bautista’s place in Action PH’s lineup in VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers will be former Alpha Esports Pro player Franc “ABATMAN” Mejia.
PHILIPPINES — Franc “ABATMAN” Mejia is set to complete the roster of Action PH for VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers, the Filipino organization announced on Tuesday. The former Alpha Esports Pro and SR KADILIMAN player will step in as a replacement for Matthew “modeskii” Bautista, according to PPGL. modeskii will sit out the first stage of VCT APAC for unspecified reasons. The reason for the switch was also not disclosed by Action PH.
ABATMAN has been on the sidelines since stepping down from Alpha Esports Pro two weeks ago. During his time with AE, he most notably assisted the team in finishing second in the AXE Genesis Tournament, narrowly losing to Action PH in the final. Nonetheless, it would be an ideal fit for Action PH, as they will feature a player who plays a role similar to modeskii.
VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers Play-In emerges as a tough challenge for the team, who will have to integrate a stand-in on short notice before facing a group shared by FULL SENSE, ONIC G, and Team Big BAAM.
