Team Secret and BOOM Esports are set to participate at the 2025 APAC Predator League, just one week before the start of the 2025 VCT Pacific Kickoff.
MALAYSIA – The 2025 APAC Predator League is set to take place for January 9-11, serving as the final OFF//SEASON event before the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) 2025 season kicks off the following week for the Pacific region.
The event in Kuala Lumpur will feature 16 teams from 13 countries, each earning their spot through rigorous qualifiers that included sub-regional, city, or smaller events to represent their regions on the international stage.
Among the 16 teams, the most notable are the reigning champions and sole invited team, Team Secret, who claimed victory in the previous edition on home soil in Manila, and BOOM Esports, the recent runners-up at VCT Ascension Pacific, who earned promotion to the VCT Pacific League.

Tim “dummy” Olson is reportedly no longer with Team Secret and has been replaced by former BOOM head coach Ji “meow” Dong-jun, as seen in a now-deleted Instagram story from the Filipino side.
Other familiar names from the tier-two Challengers League circuit include Disguised (SG), Team NKT (TH), Team Flash (VN), ZOL Esports (PH), Alter Ego (ID), RIVAL & Orangutan (IN), and Crest Gaming Zst (JP). The recently transferred Xipto Esports roster, who made the switch from the non-backed Unsigned5 team, will be the home crowd favorites after winning the regional Malaysia event against Todak.
Underdog teams like CNEsports (KR), All Gamers Young (CN), Chaos Alliance (HK), Next Gen (OCE), and TUMT Shark (TW) will be looking to prove their potential and see how far they can go against some of the event’s heavy hitters.
The Group Stage will see the teams divided into four groups of four, with matches played behind closed doors in Kuala Lumpur. Only the top team from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre on January 11. The two semi-finals will take place earlier in the day, followed by the grand finals later on.
The three-day event will feature five sets of casters, including YAP2ASIA’s very own Kentrell “heyimquack” Kwek and Nico “blackenBlue” Gayoso. The final day will also see the appearance of hosts Muhammad Farouq “Flava” Abdul Patah and MPL Malaysia host “Rose“.
The US$120,000 prize pool will be distributed among the four semi-finalists, with the champions taking home the biggest share of US$65,000, followed by US$20,000 for the runners-up and US$7,500 for each of the other semi-finalists. The MVP will receive a grand prize of US$10,000, while the best player in each role will earn US$2,000.
