Southeast Asia will finally get to host its first international VALORANT event.
THAILAND – Riot Games has announced that the first VALORANT Masters event of 2025 will take place in Bangkok, Thailand. The announcement was made by Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports, and Anna Donlon, Studio Head of VALORANT, today. It will mark the first time Southeast Asia will play host to an international VALORANT event and an event of similar stature.
The tournament is scheduled for February in Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, which has previously hosted the 2023 Ascension Pacific event and the 2024 Game Changers Pacific event. The finals of the Ascension Pacific event at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) saw a full house, with 4,500 tickets selling out as fans witnessed Bleed Esports ascend to the VCT Pacific League.
The event will feature eight teams, each region sending its top two teams from the KICKOFF events. Specific dates and the venue are yet to be confirmed, with further details expected to be announced in the coming months.
The announcement of VALORANT Masters Bangkok was made live during the Champions Seoul Media Day on August 21 at LoL Park Seoul. Riot Games and VALORANT leadership were present, including John Needham, President of Esports and Publishing; Anna Donlon, VALORANT Studio Head; Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports; and Andy Ho, Executive Producer.
“We are very excited to bring our global events to three new locations next year. The first Masters of the year, happening in February, is coming to Southeast Asia, in Bangkok. From there, we will cross the Pacific and bring the VCT to the east coast of North America this time, with Masters Toronto in June. And last but not least, we are thrilled to share that we will close out the season in the city of lights, with Champions Paris.
In addition to announcing VALORANT Masters Bangkok, Riot Games has revealed that Toronto, Canada, will host the second Masters event of the year. This marks the return of an international VALORANT event to North America for the first time since Champions Los Angeles in 2023. The 2025 season will then culminate in Paris, France, which recently hosted the 2024 Olympic Games.
The energy and enthusiasm of the Thai VALORANT community made for an unforgettable experience not only for the home teams but for every team involved when we flew out to Thailand last year. We’re excited to experience it all over again next year!
