Van Dijk Fan Club, who won the Open Qualifier of VALORANT Challengers South Asia Split 1 Cup 1, have found a new home in Carnival Gaming.
INDIA – Carnival Gaming have announced their entrance into the VALORANT scene, signing the Van Dijk Fan Club roster headlined by former Medal Esports duo Tanmay “FOX” Verma and Rishabh “Ezzy” Gupta, as well as former MLT Esports player Jay “LuffysaN” Patil (previously BADlove).
The organization will field a mix of tenured and young talents, as the aforementioned players come together with three newcomers set to make their debut in the upper echelons of Indian VALORANT: Gaurang “GauRanG” Yadav, Vishwaratn “LilBOii” Srivastav, and Shubham “Surve” Surve.
With this acquisition, Carnival Gaming will be taking over Van Dijk Fan Club’s slot in the upcoming VALORANT Challengers South Asia Split 1 Cup 1. The team secured this slot by emerging victorious in the qualifier, which rewarded only a single spot in the main event set to take place from February 1 to March 10.
FOX, known for his recent stints as part of S8UL Esports, T69, and Medal Esports, as well as a brief stand-in period with Reckoning Esports in the 2023 OFF//SEASON, joins the lineup as the primary IGL, with Ezzy and LuffysaN contributing to mid-rounding strategies. In addition reuniting with his former Medal Esports teammate Ezzy, FOX will also be sharing the same banner once again as GauRanG after previously playing together for Red Bull Campus Clutch collegiate team Villainous, representing India in Turkey at the end of last year.
Meanwhile, LuffysaN links up with Carnival Gaming after spending last year’s Challengers with MLT Esports, finishing Split 1 and Split 2 in 7-8th and 9-10th place——the same outcomes that Medal Esports achieved on both occasions with FOX and Ezzy. Subsequently, during the OFF//SEASON, LuffysaN was part of the Grayfox Esports roster alongside Surve.
LilBOii and Surve still remain relatively unknown outside of the South Asian scene, with the latter set to take on the substitute role for the team.
Despite being established less than a month ago, the Carnival Gaming organization has quickly gained recognition for its participation in BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) with the former Team SouL roster and at the same time owned by Omkar Chanduge, cousin of Kronten, the co-founder of GodLike Esports.
