DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) is heading to China next month following their recent appearance at the Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In.
CHINA – DetonatioN FocusMe have been officially announced as the fifth team competing in the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational, scheduled for November 21 to December 1 in Chengdu, China.
The VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational will bring together eight teams from VCT Pacific and VCT China, with EDward Gaming, Trace Esports, Paper Rex, DRX, and DetonatioN FocusMe already confirmed. Three additional teams will join the lineup, with announcements expected in the coming days as the event approaches.
Despite an initial close loss to RRQ (10-13) at the Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In, the Japanese team led by Koki “Art” Kagami, bounced back by defeating Papaphat “Primmie” Sriprapha’s Talon Esports with the same scoreline. However, their campaign ended in a semi-final showdown with domestic rivals ZETA DIVISION, where they were reverse-swept in a nail-biting final map that reached double overtime.
DetonatioN FocusMe are now showing a renewed sense of promise with a revamped roster centered around star player Ibuki “Meiy” Seki. The VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational will be their first major test against more established teams than those they recently faced in Tokyo and will mark their debut against VCT CN squads.

In addition to DFM, all eyes will be on EDward Gaming as they make their first appearance since clinching victory at the end-of-season VALORANT Champions Seoul last August. Paper Rex will also be stepping onto the stage for their inaugural OFF//SEASON event this season.
“Chengdu, with its unique blend of rich historical culture and modern cultural exchange, has become an ideal location for hosting VALORANT tournaments. The Asia Invitational will not only bring fresh esports energy to the city but also promote international esports cultural exchange, creating a grand year-end event for VALORANT in Asia in 2024.
In 2024, VALORANT saw numerous shining moments for Asian teams on the global stage: VALORANT Masters landed in Shanghai for the first time, with an Asian team taking the trophy, and the VCT CN region, in its inaugural year, won the global championship held in Asia. Fans of first-person shooters worldwide witnessed a historic breakthrough in Asia’s esports power and are eagerly anticipating a VALORANT event dedicated exclusively to the Asian region.
Therefore, we are incredibly excited to host a VALORANT tournament in Chengdu for the first time. With the abundant tourism resources of the “Land of Abundance,” the Asia Invitational in Chengdu will offer participants and spectators from around the world not only an esports experience but also the joy of leisure, entertainment, and cultural exploration. Here, both audiences and players will experience more than just the competition—they will enjoy a cultural exchange feast crafted by the city known as the Capital of Pandas and the Capital of Cuisine.”
