BuZz, Foxy9, and BeYN find themselves on the way out of DRX ahead of the 2025 season.
SOUTH KOREA – DRX have announced the departure of Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul and allowed Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung and Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin to seek new opportunities as restricted free agents as they are not in the team’s plan for the coming season.
The announcement came less than an hour after the VCT Transfer Window opened this morning, coinciding with domestic rivals and Masters Shanghai champions Gen.G unveiling their significant roster overhaul for the upcoming season.
BuZz’s departure from DRX marks the end of an era, with Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan remaining as the sole player from the 2021 Vision Strikers roster. While Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin technically joined the organization in the same month as BuZz and Foxy9 in 2021, he was initially part of the academy roster until receiving a call-up in May this year.

Foxy9 was signed a month after DRX was announced as one of the VCT Partner Teams in late 2022. The young player mainly contributed as part of a six-man roster in his first season, rotating in and out with Kim “Zest” Gi-seok, and served primarily as a sixth man during DRX’s international appearances until the 2024 season, when he secured a spot in the starting lineup.
Once a powerhouse in the Korean and APAC scene and a role model for other teams, DRX have had a tough time reclaiming their former glory since the 2023 VCT Pacific League. The team faced significant challenges since then, losing key players and suffering early eliminations in both Tokyo and Los Angeles in 2023.
Their biggest let-down, however, came this year when they failed to qualify for the Masters events in Madrid and Shanghai.
However, DRX recently stabilized and made a strong comeback in Stage 2, finishing second and securing a spot in VALORANT Champions 2024 on their home turf in Seoul, where they impressed by finishing in 5th-6th place. Despite this success, it wasn’t enough to keep the roster intact for next year.
As of now DRX currently have the following players on their books:
- 🇰🇷 Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan
- 🇰🇷 Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk
- 🇰🇷 Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung (Inactive)
- 🇰🇷 Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin (Inactive)
- 🇰🇷 Seon-ho “termi” Pyeon (Head Coach)
- 🇰🇷 Soon-woo “Argency” Kwon (Coach)
- 🇰🇷 Kim “glow” Min-soo (Coach)
