Goo “Rb” Sang-min and Kim “Zest” Gi-seok are back on the main roster of DRX for the AfreecaTV VALORANT League, rejoining the action after a break since their last appearance at VALORANT Champions LA.
SOUTH KOREA – It is anticipated that DRX will play the AfreecaTV VALORANT League with their classic and unmodified roster instead of Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung and academy player Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk, as seen in their two recent OFF//SEASON campaigns.
The squad led by Kim “stax” Gu-taek was spotted on Monday attending a tech rehearsal with Rb, Zest, stax, BuZz, and MaKo, as revealed in posts on AfreecaTV’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts. Furthermore, DRX’s somewhat cryptic tweet captioned “Guess who’s back. Back again” coupled with images of the pair and their first match’s timetable effectively confirmed the speculations.
Rb and Zest will make their comeback to the server, having taken a break during DRX’s participation in the TEN VALORANT Global Invitational and Red Bull Home Ground to unwind following a bustling 2023 VCT season that took them from São Paulo and Seoul to Tokyo and Los Angeles.

The inclusion of Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung to DRX in the 2023 season brought a new dynamic, as he is regarded as one of Korea’s emerging talents. In the six-man roster configuration, Foxy9 had the chance to play on a frequent basis in the Regular Season of the VCT Pacific League. Meanwhile, Zest was deployed into the server for some of DRX’s key matches throughout the year, including the final two series of VCT Pacific 2023 and international appearances in Masters Tokyo and Champions LA.
The AfreecaTV VALORANT League will be held at the Sangam Colosseum in Seoul from December 5-10, with a lion’s share of US$80,000 in prize money. With eight participants from all four major VCT regions, this OFF//SEASON event is among the biggest of the year.
The decision to bring out the big guns in Seoul places DRX in a strong position in Group A, where they will go head-to-head with Sentinels, Paper Rex, and FULL SENSE, with their first match scheduled against the sole Thai representatives on December 5 at 7 PM SGT.
