ZmjjKK was awarded the Most Influential Esports Player of the Year at Weibo Night 2023 last weekend.
CHINA – Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang (郑永康) has been named the Most Influential Esports Player of the Year at the Weibo Night 2023 event (微博之夜), which took place on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Beijing National Speed Skating Oval in Beijing, China.
This recognition follows ZmjjKK’s impressive performance in domestic competitions throughout the season and his international presence in São Paulo, Tokyo, and Los Angeles with EDward Gaming. A memorable highlight was his celebration at VALORANT Masters Tokyo, where his reaction to a round win—standing up from his chair and mimicking the action of shooting the Operator at T1—turned into one of the most electrifying moments of the entire 2023 season.
The player was also featured in a recent VOGUE Plus China video, representing esports along with other emerging athletes in the “COOL KIDS” series.
ZmjjKK’s influence extends beyond his in-game achievements with a substantial fan base within his community and being a positive personality model for many. Reflecting on the importance of education, the EDG star once advised a viewer on his stream, saying, “Studying is the easiest thing in the world. Study well and live a good life. You must study well.” This award takes into account his broader influence, reflected in his Weibo account boasting close to 600 thousand followers.
