EDward Gaming have expanded their roster from five players to seven this month with the signing of S1Mon and WoodAy1.
CHINA – EDward Gaming have announced the addition of Xie “S1Mon” Mengxun (谢孟勋) to their roster a week following their qualification for VALORANT Champions Seoul. This marks the second addition to the team just this month after signing CrossFire player Lin “WoodAy1” Weihong.
It remains unknown whether these two new additions will be part of the active roster for EDG’s three remaining VCT CN Stage 2 matches against Dragon Ranger Gaming, Nova Esports, and Bilibili Gaming, or even for their biggest campaign this year at VALORANT Champions Seoul later this August.

S1Mon has been a sort of journeyman up to this point, playing for several teams in both the Taiwan/Hong Kong and Chinese circuits. His resume includes stints with JD Gaming, where he played alongside Ernest “Vici” Simakov in the previous roster iteration, and more recently with PEI WAN E-SPORTS, where he finished as the second runners-up in VALORANT Challengers TW/HK Split 1.
His most recent appearance was in the China National Competition Season 2 Qualifier with I May, a team often linked as the academy team of EDward Gaming. Throughout his career, S1Mon has shown versatility by playing various agents and roles, a trait that will be highly valued as he joins one of China’s top squads.
With S1Mon joining the team, EDward Gaming will be hoping to bolster their firepower and strategic depth, as they look to strengthen their position as China’s leading team on the international stage. Their disappointing performance at VALORANT Masters Shanghai, where they failed to secure a single win in front of their home crowd, was a wake-up call for them to avoid being overtaken by their closest domestic rivals, FunPlus Phoenix.
EDward Gaming’s roster now is:
- 🇨🇳 Haodong “Haodong” Guo (郭浩东)
- 🇨🇳 Wan “CHICHOO” Shunzhi (万顺治)
- 🇨🇳 Wang “nobody” Senxu (王森旭)
