“I will be playing in Masters”
JAPAN – Evil Geniuses are back to full strength as Max “Demon1” Mazanov has secured his passport and arrived in Japan to join the team at VALORANT Masters Tokyo.
“I was in Seattle like 20 hours ago. I had a flight to Seattle. I got my passport in Seattle, and then from Seattle, I went straight to Tokyo on a 15-hour flight,” the player told his Twitch viewers today.
Initially, there were concerns about Demon1’s participation in the Tokyo event as he did not possess a passport, which meant he could not travel for the year’s sole Masters event. His absence would have been a significant blow to the team since he has consistently been their top performer in the VCT Americas League, boasting an impressive average VLR rating of 1.08 (#9) across 642 rounds.
Demon1 was added to the North American organization in January as part of EG’s extended roster and was later on subbed in for Brendan “BcJ” Jensen in the active roster. With Demon1 on board, Evil Geniuses managed to secure victories against the likes of Cloud9, NRG Esports, MIBR, Sentinels, KRÜ Esports, and Leviatán in the league.
Evil Geniuses have been placed in Group B alongside DRX, Attacking Soul Esports, and FUT Esports, with their first match scheduled for June 11 against the latter team.
Evil Geniuses are:
- Kelden “Boostio” Pupello
- Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
- Alexander “jawgemo” Mor
- Corbin “C0M” Lee
- Max “Demon1” Mazanov
- Brendan “BcJ” Jensen
- Jeffrey “Reformed” Lu
- Vincent “Apotheon” Le
- Kyle “ScrewFace” Jensen
- Christine “potter” Chi (Head coach)
- Addison “zecK” Gorzeck (Head coach for reserve roster)
- Tony “Zikz” Gray (Assistant coach)
