The Masters Shanghai champions are making the trip to China once again for the OFF//SEASON VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational.
CHINA – Gen.G are the latest addition to the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational team list, making them the fourth team from VCT Pacific to receive an invitation, alongside Paper Rex, DRX, and DetonatioN FocusMe. Hometown favorites EDward Gaming and Trace Esports will also be competing, leaving just two spots open.
Headed by Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, Gen.G’s invitation to the event follows closely after their win at the 2024 TEN VALORANT Asia Invitational where they debuted recent additions: former DRX player Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung and ex-Rare Atom IGL Chae “yoman” Young-mun.
This will be Gen.G’s second trip to China, following their historic win at VALORANT Masters Shanghai, where they secured Asia’s first international VALORANT trophy.

Before the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational, Gen.G will also face EDward Gaming and Trace Esports in another OFF//SEASON event in South Korea at the 2024 Gwangju Esports Series, competing in a KR vs. CN format alongside T1.
The VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational is set to take place in Chengdu, China, from November 21 to December 1, hosted at the VSPO’s Quantum Esports Center.
“Chengdu, with its unique blend of rich historical culture and modern cultural exchange, has become an ideal location for hosting VALORANT tournaments. The Asia Invitational will not only bring fresh esports energy to the city but also promote international esports cultural exchange, creating a grand year-end event for VALORANT in Asia in 2024.
In 2024, VALORANT saw numerous shining moments for Asian teams on the global stage: VALORANT Masters landed in Shanghai for the first time, with an Asian team taking the trophy, and the VCT CN region, in its inaugural year, won the global championship held in Asia. Fans of first-person shooters worldwide witnessed a historic breakthrough in Asia’s esports power and are eagerly anticipating a VALORANT event dedicated exclusively to the Asian region.
Therefore, we are incredibly excited to host a VALORANT tournament in Chengdu for the first time. With the abundant tourism resources of the “Land of Abundance,” the Asia Invitational in Chengdu will offer participants and spectators from around the world not only an esports experience but also the joy of leisure, entertainment, and cultural exploration.
