yoman will no longer play for Gen.G heading into VCT Pacific Stage 1.
SOUTH KOREA – Gen.G have officially parted ways with Chae “yoman” Young-mun by mutual agreement. The 28-year-old, who joined the Masters Shanghai-winning roster just four months ago, is now a free agent and open to exploring new opportunities.
“Today, we have mutually agreed to end our contract with yoman from Gen.G Valorant. We thank yoman for his dedication to the team, and we wish him all the best in his future.”
yoman joined Gen.G in late October last year alongside Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung, filling the vacancies left by Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh and Kim “Lakia” Jong-min. Prior to that, he was coming off a stint with Nongshim RedForce (now FEARX), where he had already been named in their starting lineup for the 2024 VALORANT Challengers Korea Split 3.

During his time with Gen.G, yoman stepped into the role left by Lakia. There were early expectations that the former Rare Atom and Nongshim RedForce player would take over the in-game leader role from Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, but that turned out not to be the case.
Despite claiming victory in two OFF//SEASON tournaments—the TEN VALORANT Asia Invitational and Gwangju Esports Series Asia—and securing a runner-up finish at the SOOP VALORANT League, Gen.G fell short of qualifying for VALORANT Masters Bangkok. Their campaign ended in third place after a lower final loss to the eventual Masters champions, T1.
Although Yoman did bring more firepower to the team and a potentially higher ceiling in the long run, his playstyle during his brief stint in Kickoff didn’t fully mesh with the utility-based approach that allowed star duelist Kim “t3xture” Na-ra to thrive last season.

Gen.G have two weeks to prepare with their yet-to-be-announced replacement. They will kick off their VCT Pacific Regular Season against Ascension squad BOOM Esports.
Gen.G currently have:
- 🇰🇷 Kim “t3xture” Na-ra
- 🇰🇷 Kim “Karon” Won-tae
- 🇰🇷 Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom
- 🇰🇷 Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung
- 🇰🇷 Kang “solo” Keun-chul (Head Coach)
- 🇰🇷 Jung “peri” Beom-gi (Assistant Coach)
