India-based Global Esports have made the pivot to a Filipino-majority lineup for the upcoming 2025 VCT season.
INDIA – Global Esports have announced the signing of a new roster for the 2025 VCT Pacific season featuring the likes of Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov and Federico “Papi” Evangelista.
The new Global Esports lineup will be helmed by Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo, according to the announcement video, who puts pen to paper after spending the previous season with Oasis Gaming. The 24-year-old was also previously with the RRQ team before the partnership program and was initially signed to compete in the inaugural season of VCT Pacific before the team pivoted to an Indonesian-majority roster.
Alongside kellyS, the Filipino contingent of the roster includes Federico “Papi” Evangelista (formerly known as PapiChulo) and Mark “patrickWHO” Musni (previously known as PatrickWatson and yokam).
Papi has become one of the most interesting Filipino players to follow since last year, playing a key role for NAOS Esports as they fend off rising challengers like Oasis Gaming and ZOL Esports. In the four Challengers Philippines events he has competed in with NAOS since last year, PapiChulo has consistently ranked among the top three players while playing as a Controller.
Meanwhile, patrickWHO is another rising star in the Philippines, often mentioned alongside Papi as one of the region’s standout players this Challengers season.
Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov is a name that needs no introduction, having reached the finals of VCT Ascension Pacific 2023 with SCARZ and recently clinching the VCT Ascension CN 2024 title with XLG Esports. The Russian player has consistently posted impressive stats while in-game leading his team to success.
Rounding out the roster is Go “UdoTan” Kyung-won, who has competed in China over the past two seasons with Four Angry Men and more recently with Rare Atom, which finished second in VCT Ascension CN 2024 behind Kr1stal’s XLG.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed head coach of Global Esports, Preston ”Juv3nile” Dornon, had been with the Americas powerhouse Leviatán since June 2024, where he led the team to victory in the VCT Americas Stage 2 event and secured a third-place finish at VALORANT Champions Seoul. The announcement video also hints at the upcoming additions of a sixth player and an assistant coach, which have yet to be revealed.
Global Esports will be hoping to improve on their previous standings in the more competitive VCT Pacific League next season and hopes to qualify for their first international events in either Bangkok, Toronto, or Paris.
