With these new signings of Joseph “ban” Oh and former Gen.G player Chae “yoman” Young-mun, India-based Global Esports will shift from a Filipino-majority to a Korean-majority roster.
INDIA – Global Esports have announced the addition of former TALON player Joseph “ban” Oh and former Gen.G player Chae “yoman” Young-mun to their lineup following the end of VCT Pacific Stage 1.
The news comes just one day after parting ways with Filipino prospect Mark “patrickWHO” Musni. With this move, Global Esports now have seven players on their roster, though changes may still be on the horizon. According to E4EQUIP’s Tanmay, Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo is reportedly set to leave the team and join Team Secret ahead of the next split.
The two new players will begin playing with the team immediately as they prepare for their debut under the Global Esports banner in the upcoming ACL 2025 EWC Pacific Qualifier on May 22-25.

“I would not have brought them in if I weren’t confident these two would be the 2% that we needed to reach boiling point and be great,” said Minseong Kim, Director of Korean Operations at Global Esports, on Twitter.
ban returns to the VCT Pacific stage after competing with T1 in 2023 and spending the 2024 season with TALON, where he most recently played in the Kickoff event, finishing in fourth place. During his time with TALON, he played a role in helping the Thai squad qualify for VALORANT Champions Seoul, the team’s first-ever international appearance. Prior to that, he also gained international experience with T1, having qualified for both Masters Tokyo and Champions Los Angeles in 2023.
yoman, on the other hand, had a short tenure with Gen.G, where he appeared in the 2024 OFF//SEASON and 2025 Pacific Kickoff event before parting ways after just four months. Prior to that, the Initiator in-game leader built a strong resume with Nongshim RedForce’s previous team during the 2024 Challengers Korea season. The team came close to qualifying for Ascension but narrowly missed out after a 2-3 loss to Sin Prisa Gaming — the eventual champions of Ascension Jakarta — in the grand finals of Split 2.
He is perhaps best remembered for his 2023 season with Rare Atom, where he played alongside current JD Gaming members. Rare Atom were considered the second-best team in China at the time, making back-to-back grand final appearances in the China Evolution Series—both against EDward Gaming.

With these new signings and the addition of Go “UdoTan” Kyung-won, India-based Global Esports will shift from a Filipino-majority to a Korean-majority roster as they aim to bounce back from finishing near the bottom in both this year’s Kickoff (9th-12th) and Stage 1 (9th-10th) standings.
Global Esports have been placed in the Alpha group for the upcoming VCT Pacific Stage 2, alongside RRQ, DRX, Gen.G, Nongshim RedForce, and Team Secret — widely considered the tougher of the two groups compared to Omega.
