VALORANT Esports has released a highly anticipated anthem for the upcoming VCT Pacific league. The anthem, titled “Make Waves”, is a collaboration between the renowned South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE’s member Minnie and DJ Don Diablo.
Minnie expressed her excitement over the opportunity to work on the anthem during the recording session. “I just finished recording Making Waves […], and I really loved it,” said Minnie in English after introducing herself in English, Thai, and Korean. “It was quite challenging because there’s a lot of high notes and pretty dynamic.”

Originating from Thailand, the multi-talented artist, Minnie, is presently based in South Korea. She commenced her journey with (G)I-DLE, a girl group under Cube Entertainment, in 2018 as their lead vocalist. Her striking vocal range and captivating stage presence have earned her immense popularity among fans. Collaborating with Riot Games and Don Diablo for the VCT Pacific anthem, “Make Waves,” is another notable addition to her already impressive portfolio.
Although this is Minnie’s first collaboration with Riot Games, two of her fellow (G)I-DLE members, Soyeon and Miyeon, have previously worked with the game developer on the virtual girl group K/DA. The group, which debuted in 2018 with its single Pop/Stars, features virtual characters from the game League of Legends and has garnered a large following among both fans of K-pop and the game.

Along with (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, Riot Games also collaborated with Don Diablo, whose real name is Don Pepijn Schipper. He is a Dutch DJ, digital artist, record producer, musician, and songwriter of electronic dance music. He is known for being one of the pioneers of the future house genre and was ranked sixth in the Top 100 DJs – 2020 list by DJ Mag.
