MLT Esports have secured the services of the former Orangutan roster, as announced by the Bangladeshi organization.
INDIA – MLT Esports have announced that they have completed the signing of the former Orangutan roster, solidifying their position as the leading contenders for the upcoming 2024 Challengers South Asia circuit.
Sabyasachi “Antidote” Bose and co. had been on the lookout for a new organization to represent after parting ways with Orangutan at the end of last year, with whom they lifted trophies in Challengers South Asia Split 1 and 2 as well as representing the sub-region at VCT Ascension Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand.
Their end-of-year campaign in the OFF//SEASON also ended on a high note, clinching wins in the EMG Pro Series South Asia, TEC Challenger Series 10, and Predator League India tournaments, marking a triumphant success for the team.
The team’s core has remained intact since January 2023 when Antidote, Akram “Rawfiul” Virani, and star player Azis “azys” Nandang first signed to Orangutan. Indonesian import and former Bigetron Arctic member Rafi “frostmind” Diandra only joined more recently in October, successfully completing a trial with the team and solidifying his position as a permanent member just two months later.
Joining the four former Orangutan players are Saaransh “Whimp” Dang as part of the starting five as well as the addition of two substitutes in former Aster Army player Soumyadeep “DOXZ3RRR” Dey and Anas “traNz” Ayub who was with both MLT’s male and female roster as a coach.
Whimp links up with MLT after spending the 2023 VCT season with True Rippers followed by his time with Medal Esports during last year’s OFF//SEASON. On the other hand, DOXZ3RRR was part of Aster Army in the previous season, concluding the second split with a third-place finish.
With a roster boasting a winning caliber, the Bangladeshi organization will be optimistic about their chances of reaching Ascension and aspiring to see the team replicate the stellar performances from the previous season under OG.
The Indian-majority roster will be making their first appearance for MLT Esports in VALORANT Challengers South Asia Split 1 Cup 1 against their former organization, Orangutan, who is now fielding a six-man roster featuring up-and-coming names including former MLT member Atharv “Rio” Ahire. The game is scheduled to take place on February 1 at 5:30 PM SGT (UTC+8).
