For Bilibili Gaming, Muggle’s arrival comes at a time when the organization is on an upward trajectory.
CHINA – Bilibili Gaming have officially appointed Tang “Muggle” Shijun as their new head coach, bringing him over from EDward Gaming. His arrival follows BLG’s split with former coach Lee “bail” Sung-jae, who has since joined JDG Esports.
Muggle’s move marks the first team change of his VALORANT coaching career. Since joining EDG in 2022, he worked his way up from assistant coach under Lo “AfteR” Wen-hsin to taking the reins as head coach midway through VCT CN Stage 2 in 2024.
Under Muggle’s leadership, EDward Gaming completed one of the most memorable runs in VALORANT history. The team clinched the VALORANT Champions 2024 title in Seoul, becoming the first Chinese team to win an international trophy and simultaneously lifting the world championship trophy.

But EDG struggled to maintain their form afterward. Despite winning Kickoff and placing third at Masters Bangkok, they failed to qualify for Masters Toronto after finishing fourth in Stage 1, which marked the organization’s first missed international event. A third-place finish in Stage 2 earned them a Champions Paris slot, but they exited the tournament in last place, ending their season well short of expectations for a reigning world champion.
For Bilibili Gaming, Muggle’s arrival comes at a time when the organization is on an upward trajectory. After years spent chasing EDG in the domestic rankings, BLG finally broke through in 2025. Their season progressed steadily: third in Kickoff, second in Stage 1, and finally lifting the Stage 2 trophy, cementing themselves as China’s No. 1 team by year-end. Their international campaign, however, was less successful.
BLG will be hoping Muggle’s championship-winning experience can bring a new dimension to the team.

The team will keep their current starting five and head into a packed OFF//SEASON, including the China Esports Festival Super Champion Cup in Beijing (Nov 29–30), Shanghai Esports Masters (Dec 4–5), and the VALORANT Radiant International Invitational in Fuzhou (Dec 18–21).
Bilibili Gaming now have:
- Wang “whzy” Haozhe
- Liu “Knight” Yuxiang
- Lu “Levius” Yinzhong
- Marcus “nephh” Tan
- Wang “rushia” Xiaojie
- Tang “Muggle” Shijun (Head coach)
- Wang “JeXeN” Linxiao (Coach)
