Wolves Esports round off Stage 2 roster revamp with Deryeon
The Singaporean player joins Wolves Esports for VCT CN Stage 2
CHINA – Wolves Esports have announced the addition of Singaporean player Derrick "Deryeon" Yee, officially rounding off their main roster just days before VCT CN Stage 2.
A seasoned player within Pacific, he gained prominence as a player for Bleed Esports who took home the Ascension Pacific 2023 title and were subsequently promoted to the 2024 VCT Pacific League. Following BLEED's removal from the league that same year, he had a short stint with Disguised before their disbandment and returned to Tier 1 after being picked up by Global Esports to compete in 2025.
Following his departure from Global Esports this year, Deryeon made his return to the Tier 2 scene by joining Singaporean team Motiv Esports in Challengers SEA. During his time at Motiv, he helped the team claim the Challengers SEA Split 1 2026 title after defeating Sharper Esports 3-1 in the Grand Finals and was named the Finals MVP. However, they finished 5-6th place in the Split 2 RoSEA Qualifiers, losing out to XLB (BLG Academy).
On the other side of the table, Wolves have been struggling to keep themselves afloat regionally, most recently ending VCT CN Stage 2 in 11-12th and have failed to qualify for any global events ever since Masters Toronto. The team is going all-in ahead of Stage 2 to hopefully recapture the magic of their remarkable Top 3 Cinderella run at Toronto by revamping nearly their entire roster, inclusive of their coaching staff. Aside from Zhong "aluba" Haojun who rejoins Wolves after first playing with them in 2024, Liu "Spring" Chun-ting is the only player left from that original Toronto roster.
Wolves Esports' final roster for Stage 2 is currently:
- Liu "Spring" Chun-ting
- Wang “yosemite” Lei
- Liang “glacier” Zhe-kai
- Zhong "aluba" Haojun
- Derrick "Deryeon" Yee
- Xie “nothing” Junzheng (Substitute)
- Alexander "alexRr" Frisch (Head Coach)
VCT CN Stage 2 runs from July 9 to August 23 and will be held in Changsha, China, with the playoffs moving to Chengdu as the final leg of the VCT CN 2026 roadshow.
The top 4 teams from Stage 2 will secure their spots at Champions which takes place on home soil in Shanghai this year.
