Gen.G sign Xiesta on a four-year contract; joins ONSIDE Gaming on loan
Gen.G lock in their top academy prospect Xiesta through 2029, with ONSIDE loan move set for immediate playtime.
SOUTH KOREA – Gen.G have officially signed Korean prospect Jung “Xiesta” Si-hwan from their Global Academy program, with the organization confirming a four-year contract that runs through the 2029 season. Gen.G said it is the longest contract in the organization’s history.
Since Xiesta is still below the minimum age requirement for VCT, he will be loaned out to ONSIDE Gaming to compete in VALORANT Challengers Korea. Born in 2010, he is eligible to play in the Challengers circuit this split.
Widely regarded as one of Korea’s top prospects, Xiesta previously peaked at Radiant with 1,090 RR in Episode 9: Act III and became one of the youngest players to reach Rank 1 on the APAC ranked server. He also gained competitive experience in the 2023 Ansan Esports Summer Festival as part of the Gen.G Scholars team.
The highly rated young talent is now set for his first professional campaign this year, where he will face teams such as DRX Academy, T1 Academy, Gen.G Global Academy, FEARX, Mir Gaming, Dplus KIA, and ARETE in Split 1. VALORANT Challengers Korea Split 1 is set to begin February 25 all the way till April 16.
