Global Esports set to part ways with FrosT; Platoon to take over as head coach

by Juandi July 27, 2026

In a surprising move, Global Esports are set to move on from FrosT after their most successful VCT Pacific campaign yet.

INDIAGlobal Esports are set to part ways with head coach Hector "FrosT" Rosario, with Daniel “Platoon” Zhou expected to take over the head coaching position for the remainder of the season.

The move was revealed by Global Esports CEO & Co-Founder Dr. Rushindra Sinha during his appearance on the YAP2ASIA Podcast, where he addressed the ongoing rumors surrounding FrosT’s future with the organization. In a separate update, Sinha also revealed that Platoon is set to step into the head coach role as GE prepare for the next phase of their season.

FrosT’s departure comes as a surprise given Global Esports’ breakthrough run this year. Under his leadership, the Indian organization reached new heights in VCT Pacific, qualifying for the league playoffs for the first time before finishing in third place. That run also secured GE their first-ever appearance at an international VALORANT event, VALORANT Masters London, as well as a spot at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Paris.

“FrosT is no longer the head coach of Global Esports. I will also say he is by far one of the best coaches that I have worked with.

“My credit to all the other coaches that I worked with in the past, but I think just as a person, I vibed and connected with him. He was also an org owner in the past, and we are definitely going to find a way to work together in the future as well. We’re on good terms.

“But for this roster, I think it’s more important for us to focus on the five players that we have, and we’re gonna continue doing that. So the rest of the roster continues being as is for our season going forward, but FrosT will no longer be the head coach [...]”

The exact reason behind FrosT’s departure has yet to be made public. FrosT, one of the most outspoken and recognizable voices in the VALORANT scene, has not personally addressed the situation, while Global Esports are still waiting for Riot Games to approve the move after submitting the necessary paperwork. An official announcement is expected once the process is completed.

The Global Esports CEO & Co-Founder also revealed that FrosT has already found a new team.

GE are set to compete at the Esports World Cup in Paris, although FrosT was not expected to be part of that campaign regardless. The American coach previously stated in a Stage 1 post-match press conference that he would not be taking part in GE’s EWC run.

Stage 2 will now serve as the real test for Global Esports under Platoon. GE have been placed in Group Alpha alongside FULL SENSE, RRQ, Nongshim RedForce, ZETA DIVISION, and Gen.G, as they look to qualify for VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai, China.
