Oasis Gaming’s Rbtx to assemble SIBOL VALORANT roster for SEA Games Cambodia 2023
Following Oasis Gaming’s victory, Jose “Rbtx” Carlo Jamir has been tasked with putting together a SIBOL VALORANT lineup to represent the Philippines in the upcoming SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia.
PHILIPPINES – The SIBOL National Team selection for SEA Games 2023 VALORANT has come to a close, with Oasis Gaming coming out on top after securing a swift 2-0 victory (Icebox 13-7, Split 13-7) over SR Nacague.
The selection process for the SIBOL lineup for this year's SEA Games differs from past iterations, where the entire winning lineup would represent the country, in that the roster will be composed of players from the top four teams in the qualifier. As the winning team's coach, Jose "Rbtx" Carlo Jamir of Oasis Gaming will call the shots for SIBOL’s VALORANT squad at the 32nd SEA Games.

Coach Jamir will have a challenging yet honorable task to lead, train and guide the top players selected from the Top 4 teams of the selection that comprise Team SIBOL Valorant! Go for the gold, Coach Jamir!" the announcement reads.
The players in Oasis Gaming, SR Nacague, Sky Empire, and NAOS Esports will be among those considered to represent the country at the SEA Games following their top four placements in the SIBOL qualifier. There is no word yet on when the finalized SIBOL roster will be unveiled.
Sibol, the Filipino word for "growth," is an apt name for the country’s national team, as it signifies "the rise of esports worldwide and the advancement of esports talent in the Philippines".
The SIBOL National Team selection for SEA Games 2023 featured eight teams to determine the best players to fly the country’s colors in the biennial multi-sport event. De La Salle University’s Viridis Arcus Esports were directly invited by the organizer, while the remaining seven were determined through an open bracket.
“This is the best opportunity for aspiring esports athletes to showcase their talents competing against the best of the best in the country for a chance to represent our nation on the biggest esports stages in the world.” Sibol General Manager Jab Escutin stated in a press release.
Oasis Gaming went straight into the single-elimination bracket, moving past Abaddon Abyss without too much trouble. The semi-finals saw them require three maps to see off NAOS Esports, another PH’s upper-echelon team in the bracket, before taking on SR Nacague in the final. Brheyanne "Wild0reoo" Christ Reyes and Xavier "xavi8k" Juan put up an impressive display throughout the one-sided series to secure the game 2-0.
