The group draw and schedule for VCL South Asia Split 2, running from April 29 to June 11, has been revealed.

INDIA – With the action set to begin this weekend, the organizer has released the groups for the VCL South Asia Split 2 Regular Season.

VCL South Asia Split 2 will commence this weekend, where we will see eight teams competing for their share of a US$100,000 prize pool and the sole coveted Pacific Ascension berth. New Delhi will play host to nine returning teams from the first split, along with the inclusion of Revenant Esports, who will be replacing Lethal Esports. The groups were seeded based on each team’s standing in VCL South Asia Split 1.

On paper, the most heavily-stacked group appears to be Group A, which hosts Revenant Esports against defending champions Orangutan, the once SA juggernaut of Velocity Gaming, Indian-Russian combine in Reckoning Esports, with MLT Esports fighting an uphill battle as the clear underdog.

On the other hand, Group B features previous finalists Gods Reign as the highest-ranked squad. In addition, both True Rippers Esports and Aster Army, who finished Split 1 in 3rd and 4th place, respectively, look capable of doing some damage. The latter will also debut their new lineup after signing two new players. Medal Esports and GodLike Esports complete the roster of teams in Group B.

Below you can find the group draws in full:

Group A Group B
Orangutan Gods Reign
Velocity Gaming Medal Esports
Reckoning Esports Aster Army
MLT Esports GodLike Esports
Revenant Esports True Rippers

The league will maintain its structure, with two groups, each with five teams, and then a playoff stage with a double-elimination bracket, where all games are best-of-three series except the grand final, which will be a best-of-five game on June 11.

The playoffs will see the top team from each group qualify directly to the upper-bracket semifinals, with the second and third-placing teams starting their journey from the upper-bracket quarterfinals.
