The Ascension tournament in Bangkok will play out over ten days.

THAILAND – VCT Ascension Pacific is set to begin June 28, with ten teams slated to do battle in the capital city of Bangkok, Thailand. The US$100,000 tournament will last through July 9, and the attending teams earned their spots through their respective regional Challengers Leagues.

The winners of ten different VALORANT Challengers Leagues were all awarded spots in the tournament that will promote the champions a two-year promotion into the VCT Pacific League, joining the likes of DRX, Paper Rex, Rex Regum Qeon, and more. Here is a list of the teams set to compete in Bangkok, along with how they qualified in their respective groups:

Group Alpha:

  • Thailand - XERXIA
  • Vietnam - Fancy United Esports
  • HK/TW - ONE Team Esports
  • Philippines - NAOS Esports
  • Indonesia - BOOM Esports

Group Omega:

  • South Asia - Orangutan
  • Japan - SCARZ
  • MY/SG - Bleed Esports
  • Korea - Dplus KIA
  • Oceania - Bonkers

Overall, most of the teams who will play in Bangkok are fairly well known within the tier-two levels of VALORANT in Asia, with some, such as Bleed Esports, Dplus KIA, NAOS Esports, and BOOM Esports, having the advantage of previous experience at the highest level prior to the VCT partnership era.

The tournament will follow a two-stage structure:

  • Group Stage: 28 June - 4 July (Pullman Grande Sukhumvit Hotel)
  • Playoffs: 7 - 9 July (Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Hall 8)

The matches during the tournament days will begin at the following times:

  • Group Stage: 13:00 GMT+7 // 14:00 GMT+8
  • Playoffs: 16:00 GMT+7 // 17:00 GMT+8

The group stage, running June 28 to July 4, features the ten teams doing battle in two single round-robin groups, with the top two from both groups ensuring participation in the next round held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

The playoffs themselves, going down July 7-9, will utilize a double-elimination, best-of-three bracket. The group winners will advance to the semis, while the second and third-placed sides qualify for the quarter-finals. The champions will be crowned upon the conclusion of the grand final on Sunday, July 9, which earns them a two-year promotion into the VCT Pacific League.
