Wolves Esports part ways with Satoshi

Satoshi exits Wolves Esports after four months, having only featured in off-season and third-party events.

CHINAWolves Esports have officially parted ways with Fei “Satoshi” Zhixian after four months with the team. His departure closes a chapter that never quite got going in the official VCT CN circuit, as Satoshi was never fielded in a single match on the main stage and was instead limited to 12 maps across the OFF//SEASON and the China Evolution Cup Series.

Satoshi first joined Wolves Esports last November as part of the team’s rebuilding process heading into the new season.

Joining from Rare Atom, where he had gained recognition during the team’s run to an Ascension runners-up finish, the duelist looked like an encouraging pickup on paper. Wolves had come off a season of highs and lows, outperforming expectations at first before fading later in the year, and Satoshi was among the changes meant to give the roster a fresh spark. However, the results never came in the limited opportunities he received.

His first appearances under the Wolves banner came at the TEN VALORANT Global Invitational 2025, where the transition immediately looked rough. Satoshi had an especially difficult debut in a best-of-one against DRX, where he finished with a 0.06 VLR rating in what was a disastrous opening showing. That series was followed by more underwhelming performances against Team Heretics and Nongshim RedForce, where he again struggled to leave much of an impact with duelists and found himself at the bottom of the scoreboard.

There were, however, some signs of progress as the event went on. In Wolves’ rematch against Team Heretics, Satoshi turned in his best performance with the team, recording a 19/16/4 statline on Raze alongside a 1.08 VLR rating. The 20-year-old was the only Wolves player to end the series with a positive K-D, giving a glimpse of what the signing might have looked like with more time. Even so, the series still ended in defeat, eliminating Wolves from the event in Asan, South Korea.

Outside of that tournament, Satoshi also appeared at the China Esports Festival Super Champions Cup, where Wolves experimented with him in different roles. He played Cypher against DRX and Astra against Bilibili Gaming, showing some flexibility in how the team was trying to use him. Still, those appearances were few and far between, and most of his game time ultimately came in the OFF//SEASON and CN Evolution Cup Series rather than the official circuit.

Just before the official season began, Wolves seemed to pivot in another direction by going with Bijan “qiutiaN” Moeinzadeh instead, leaving Satoshi on the outside looking in. That move all but ended any real chance of him breaking into the starting lineup, and even qiutiaN’s own spell with the team has already ended following his move to Nova Esports earlier this week.

By that point, the spot had long ceased to be Satoshi’s. Wolves have now moved on once again, this time bringing in former Weibo Gaming and 5FW player Li “R1ckLee” Xu.

For Wolves Esports, the focus now shifts fully toward finding their footing again and recapturing the form that made them one of the region’s biggest surprises a year ago. Around this time last season, Wolves were in the middle of a run that saw them finish third in Stage 1 before going on to shock the wider scene with a third-place finish at VALORANT Masters Toronto.
