The Orangutan organization has returned to an all-Indian roster after bidding farewell to their international squad.
INDIA – Orangutan have announced their return to VALORANT with a new six-man roster, which sees the organization move away from an international approach. The announcement comes a month after Orangutan announced their decision to release their high-profile roster, now affiliated with MLT Esports, despite having won the previous two South Asian Challengers competition last year and representing the sub-region at VCT Ascension Pacific.
The newly formed all-Indian roster comprises less familiar names compared to the previously associated Orangutan players, positioning them as a potential surprise contender for the upcoming season. Jai Shah, Co-Founder of Orangutan, shared on Twitter, “This VCL SA is going to be for the underdogs to prove their mettle. We’ve taken a very different approach to building this year’s roster. The future of VALORANT will be built here!”

Headlining OG’s 2024 lineup is Atharv “Rio” Ahire, bringing with him past experience from Reckoning Esports in the 2022 season and MLT Esports in the most recent 2023 season. On the other hand, Jit “tryst” Choudhury, who was part of the Reckoning Esports roster that narrowly missed Ascension qualification last year, ultimately secured a second-place finish in the 2023 VALORANT Challengers South Asia Split 2, narrowly trailing behind Orangutan.
Daivik “DcRulz” Chauhan makes the move to Orangutan after his tenure with Medal Esports during the 2023 season. The transition to Orangutan comes with a familiar touch, as his former coach Vikrant “Hacker” Pujari has been appointed to lead the team. The three players rounding out the six-man roster are Naqshab “Trinxty” Khan, Saunskar “saun” Sane, and Ravin “Rucifix” Vadhera.
Looking ahead, Orangutan have been announced as one of the invited teams for the upcoming VALORANT Challengers South Asia Split 1 Cup 1, which is set to take place in a week’s time starting on February 1.
