Riot Games announces 17 OFF//SEASON events for Pacific

The OFF//SEASON period in the Pacific will feature 17 events, spanning six locations throughout the region.

PACIFIC – Riot Games has unveiled the OFF//SEASON schedule for the season, with more than 17 events set for the rest of the year in the Pacific region, hosted by third-party organizers in both online and offline settings. Flagship events, including Red Bull Home Ground and VALORANT India Invitational, are at the forefront, while the FFL RESORT in Okinawa Ver.VALORANT promises a lay-back tournament vibe, a-la cs_summit.

“We’re excited to work with Acer, Red Bull, Afreecatv, and many more partners to bring these OFF//SEASON events to APAC! We’re also cooking up a couple of other things as well. Stay tuned,” commented Jake Sin, Head of VALORANT Esports APAC, regarding the announcement on X.

The Philippines and India are both set to hold three OFF//SEASON tournaments each, while Japan and Korea will be the venues for four and two, respectively. Oceania is gearing up for five tournaments, with a primary focus on online events. Notable organizations such as Team Liquid and NerdPunt are taking charge of the hosting, along with a dedicated out-of-the-circuit Game Changers tournament for the region.

According to Riot Games, this announcement is merely the first step in a series of announcements they have planned. Over the next few weeks, the developer plans to gradually release additional information that will shed light on various aspects of their esports operation in VALORANT for next year. They will outline how the Challengers circuit will evolve and adapt for the upcoming season, as well as details about Global Events and International League Play.

About: The VALORANT CEASE//FIRE is an exhilarating off-season Arena level tournament set to take place in Manila, Philippines. The tournament will be a thrilling showdown featuring the immensely popular local team, TEAM SECRET, pitted against an international All-Star team. The event will feature a myriad of entertaining activities, including a captivating cosplay competition, meet-and-greets with influential figures, an exciting influencers showmatch, mesmerizing live music performances, captivating stage programs, and an array of VALORANT and CEASE//FIRE merchandise for avid fans to explore.

3. Asia Pacific Predator League Grand Finals

Location: Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, Philippines

Schedule: Jan 13th & 14th, 2024

About: The Asia Pacific Predator League is back in action. Teams from across the APAC region will be battling for the highly coveted Predator Shield. The Asia Pacific Predator League has been the home ground of up-and-coming esports talents. Predator has continuously provided this stage since 2018 and continues to nurture and promote the esports industry. Local qualifiers for each participating territory are now underway. The winners from the local qualifiers will have the honor of competing at the Grand Finals event early 2024. Details of the APAC Grand Finals will be announced soon. 5. TEN_ VALORANT GLOBAL INVITATIONAL

Location: Busan E-sports Arena, Brena, South Korea

Dates: Oct 7th-8th

About: One of the biggest OFF//SEASON events in Korea inviting 4 teams from around the world. The event will take place in one of the most iconic esports stadiums in Busan, South Korea.

6. Penta Pro Series – VALORANT | Season 2

Format: Online qualifiers and LAN finals at Mumbai, India

Schedule:

  • Open Qualifier: Oct 25th-29th
  • Group Stage: Nov 7th-20th
  • Playoffs: Dec 9th &10th

About: This South Asia region tournament will be played over three phases. The first phase will be an Open Qualifier, from where the top 2 teams will progress to the second phase – Group Stage, where they will be joined by 6 invited teams, and the top 4 teams from this phase will qualify for the third phase – Playoffs, which will be played over two days in Mumbai to crown the champion.

Format: LAN in India

8. TEC Challenger Series – Official VCT OFF//SEASON Event 2023

Format: Online qualifiers with LAN at GMC Balayogi Sports Complex, India

Schedule: Sept 2nd & 3rd for the LAN

About: The TEC Challenger Series – Official VCT OFF//SEASON 2023 – is now available! Join us from August 8th to 13th for the intense Online Qualifiers, in which the top four teams advance to the Group Stages. The 12 contenders will compete in two groups in a thrilling round robin format, paired with 8 invited teams. Witness the ultimate showdown when the top four teams compete in the LAN event in Hyderabad on September 2nd and 3rd, 2023! Prepare yourself for unrivaled VALORANT action and unforgettable moments!

About: Red Bull Home Ground is a pro VALORANT Invitational which will see several of the world’s top VALORANT teams battle it out for victory. This year, one of Tokyo’s most iconic venues – the historic Sumo arena Ryogoku Kokugikan – will be the proving ground, pitting the best teams from Japan and across the world against each other in a battle to be number one.

About: A vacation event in Okinawa. We will have pro players and streamers participate in an offline event and other fun activities while soaking in the tropical vibes of Okinawa.

11. HACG CUP

Location: e-Create Space, Sazatuka esports studio, Japan

Date: Nov 18th

About: An event that gives esports students a chance to play among pro players. Qualifying rounds will be held for students from all over Japan, and the winning student teams will participate in the finals. The finals will feature players from various professional teams to join in with the students, forming a mixed student-professional dream team.

12. Japan Hype Up Tour JAPAN

Location: Osaka, Nagoya, Shibuya, Japan

Dates: Oct 2nd & 3rd, Nov 11th

About: A tour-based tournament that takes place in three of the biggest cities in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. The event focuses on the fans and their passion for the game, taking the spectator culture to new heights.

13. The VALORANT Sensational Social Summer Shindig

Region: Oceania

Format: Online

Schedule: Sept 8th-10th (AEST)

About: An exciting community tournament with guest appearances from some of OCE’s biggest talents in which players will compete in a social summer themed tournament against each other.

14. The Liquid Open Powered by IMC

Format: Online

Schedule: Oct 9th-12th, 19th-22nd (AEST)

About: Targeting Australia and New Zealand, the Liquid Open Powered by IMC aims to attract teams of friends who have never had the opportunity to experience a tournament of this scale without limiting access to more experienced and skilled players. It features a double elimination bracket with a prize pool spread over a large portion of the participants, to make the event more about participation than competitive excellence.

About: Summoners’ Society is teaming up with Game Changers to give high quality tournament accessibility to women and gender-diverse individuals in Oceania. Aiming to amplify the presence of marginalized genders in the professional VALORANT scene. Over two weekends ‘SumSoc x Game Changers’ tournament will be broadcasting up-and-coming female and gender-diverse talent from OCE to the world, with professional level prizes to support the growth of the community!
