RRQ are the latest team to announce an academy project ahead of the upcoming Challengers season.
INDONESIA – Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) have revealed plans to scout and develop talent in the APAC region through their new academy project, with the search for five players already underway.
The RRQ Academy project aims to develop promising talent in the APAC region, providing them with the same level of coaching and infrastructure as the main team. This will help players gain crucial experience and improve their skills, with the ultimate goal of shaping them as potential candidates for RRQ’s main roster in the future.
“You will train under Marthinus “Ewok” Walt alongside other talented individuals and an academy team coach to make sure you will have the same training and be ready for a pathway to the VCT Pacific and any given time,” RRQ co-owner Calvin “Nano” Thenderan revealed in a tweet. In a piece of related news, Ewok has extended his contract with the Indonesian organization through 2026.

“Go apply if you believe you have what it takes to be a hardworking, coachable, and driven professional,” coach Ewok said on Twitter. “The academy team will be working alongside the main team as well as the coaching staff. This is the start of the RRQ ecosystem where we would like to set up upcoming players to thrive and prepare them for tier-one VALORANT.”
RRQ join T1, who recently revealed their academy roster headlined by ex-NORTHEPTION and FAV Gaming member Kim “TenTen” Tae-young. RRQ Academy and T1 Academy are expected to compete in the VALORANT Challengers circuit next season in the SEA and Korea circuit, respectively, following Riot Games’ decision to allow VCT Pacific organizations to field academy squads.
Players interested in joining the RRQ VALORANT Academy can apply through the official registration form. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have achieved Immortal 3 rank in the previous two Acts to be eligible for the tryouts.
