The tri-nation event in Chengdu will feature upper-echelon teams from China, Japan, and Korea to kick off 2024.
CHINA – VALORANT Esports CN has revealed the first details about the upcoming VALORANT East Asia Tri-Cup (无畏契约东亚三国杯) that it will host in January 2024, featuring eight teams from China, Japan, and Korea competing in Chengdu.
“As the first international event initiated and led by the CN region, the VALORANT East Asia Tri-Cup aims to create more opportunities for cultural exchange and interaction among the East Asian regions, elevate the standards of VALORANT Esports teams in the region, and further ignite the interest and enthusiasm of fans in the region.”
While the official VALORANT Esports CN has only announced a few details, it has been confirmed that China will be represented by three teams. Japan will contribute two teams to the competition, and Korea will also have three representatives, including the sole confirmed team, DRX.

In a recent interview on Bilibili conducted by Skye不得了, DRX’s in-game leader Kim “stax” Gu-taek and head coach Seon-ho “termi” Pyeon confirmed their participation. “We are coming to China at the beginning of next year in January. Finally, ever since the open beta of VALORANT in China, we’ve been hearing about it and have wanted to visit China. Now we can finally make the trip, and we’re very excited to meet our fans.”
Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, is no stranger to hosting major esports events in the past such as the Intel Extreme Masters, World Cyber Games, AESF e-Masters, and Mars Dota 2 League, among others. Furthermore, the city is home to OWL’s Chengdu Hunters and CrossFire powerhouse All Gamers who will also take part in the recently-announced VCT CN League.
