Eight teams from five regions—Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan, Oceania, and South Asia—will compete for two coveted spots to represent the Pacific at the Game Changers Championship in Berlin in November. They’ll also be vying for a share of the US$20,000 prize pool.
The event will run for six days, featuring two groups of four teams playing in a GSL format. The top two teams from each group will advance to a single-elimination playoff starting from the semi-finals. Teams were seeded based on their past competitive performance and the size of their respective Game Changers leagues, with teams from the same region avoiding each other in their first match.
In Group A, the opener features ZETA DIVISION GC up against Abigail “Kohaibi” Kong’s BOBA, with the victor moving on to play either Xipto Esports (formerly Team SMG) or Jeong “miNt” Ye-rim’s FENNEL Hotelava. The latter clash is one of the most hyped matchups to kick things off, with a possible BOBA vs. Xipto Esports rematch looming in the next round, making this side of the bracket the dreaded Group of Death.
Group B will pit Korea’s Mir Gaming GC against South Asia’s Purr-Fectionists, with sisu also facing off against Oceania’s swaglord9000 in their first-round match. The full schedule and match order will be released closer to the event.
The groups and opening matchups are as follows:
