We are down to the final six teams in VCL South Asia Split 1 following the end of the Regular Season.
INDIA – The Regular Season of VCL South Asia Split 1 has drawn to a close, giving way to the playoffs where six teams are set to battle it out for the trophy and the lion’s share of the US$40,000, starting on Friday, April 14. The two bottom-placed teams from each group were immediately eliminated and will continue their run in Split 2.
The two group winners, Velocity Gaming and Orangutan, will advance straight into the upper-bracket semi-finals of the double-elimination bracket thanks to their unbeaten record of 4-0. In addition, Gods Reign finished with a commendable record of 3-1, which placed them closely behind the group winners. Then, there was a larger disparity between these top-performing teams and the remaining competitors.

Completing the list of teams that successfully made it to the playoffs are True Rippers Esports, Reckoning Esports, and Aster Army. The latter team, also previously known as Anaadi Army, stand out as the most significant anomaly in this playoffs, as they had to fight their way from the open qualifier to secure a place in the playoffs.
Unfortunately, the two other open qualifier teams, Medal Esports and MLT Esports, narrowly missed out on the qualification zone and were unable to secure a spot in the playoffs. Meanwhile, GodLike Esports and Lethal Esports had a disappointing outing and finished at the bottom of the table with a 0-4 record.
As per the tournament format, the runners-up of each group will face the third-placed teams from their mirror group in the upper-bracket quarter-finals. This arrangement has set up an exciting matchup between Aster Army and True Ripper, slated to take place on Friday. On the other hand, Gods Reign and Reckoning Esports will meet in the other quarter-final match scheduled after.
The action will continue throughout the week, with the semi-finals and grand final scheduled for the following week on Sunday, April 23.
