Eight teams will duke it out for their share of a US$25,000 (~Rp361.000.000) prize pool and three spots in VCT APAC Stage 2 Challengers.
INDONESIA – BOOM Esports, Persija Esports, ONIC G, and Alter Ego have been handed invites as a result of their Stage 1 finishes.
The aforementioned quartet will be joined by four open qualifier teams who just qualified last week, with Dewa United Esports claiming the first group stage spot on offer, rounded out by Bigetron Arctic, Hike Digital Esports (previously BEAST), and ARF TEAM (previously Babi Guling) – leaving notable organizations such as Team M11, BIG GAMING ID, NXL, and Ethereal without a spot in Stage 2.
Formerly hailing from MORPH Impact, Frizky “FrizzNatsz” Satyawarman will make an appearance in the sub-regional competition with Dewa United Esports after MORPH Impact’s abrupt disbandment following the end of VCT Stage 1.
Meanwhile, Radya “Rapheleen“ Ramadhanta has been playing with Hike Digital Esports in place of Alehandro “Nakya” Simanjorang, who was acquired by Bigetron Arctic last month.
ARF TEAM were the only new face to successfully make it through the qualifier. Comprising of former Bigetron Arctic duo Rey “Vasvalizz” Pardede and Sergio “no1syboy” Rahardja, they will be joined by Nico “OnigiRi” Alvanius (formerly Nay) and two lesser-known prospects Justin “Maskon” Adams and “ceepkold”.
