The 2021 VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 3 – Masters: Berlin will bring together sixteen of the world’s finest teams. Thus, VALO2ASIA provides an in-depth viewer’s guide to the largest VALORANT LAN to date.
Hosted at the Verti Music Hall in Berlin from September 10-19, VCT Masters 3: Berlin will feature sixteen contestants. The tournament will consist of GSL style group play, followed by an eight-team single elimination bracket. Teams were first divided into four draw pools based on a combination of their respective final placements at Challenger events and the strength of their region.
- Pool 1 – NA #1, EMEA #1, KR #1, BR #1
- Pool 2 – NA #2, EMEA #2, LATAM #1, SEA #1
- Pool 3 – JP #1, BR #2, KR #2, EMEA #3
- Pool 4 – NA #3, SEA #2, JP #2, EMEA #4
Following that, each team in each pool was randomly assigned to one of four groups (Groups A-D). If a team was drawn into a group that already included a team from their area, they were assigned to the next alphabetically consecutive group. The sole exemption was for teams from EMEA, which as a result of having the most representatives at the tournament, could have two teams drawn into a single group.
The groups, which were unveiled on August 28, are as follows:
During the Group Stage, teams will compete through a four-team, double-elimination bracket to determine two winners from each group. In the opening round of each group, Pool 1 teams will play Pool 4 teams, while Pool 2 teams will face Pool 3 teams.
Prior to the tournament, owing to tighter travel restrictions worldwide as a result of evolving COVID-19 developments, Bren Esports, Southeast Asia’s number one seeded team, was unable to obtain the required travel permits to Berlin. As a consequence of this decision, the tournament’s structure will be altered, with Group D, which included Bren Esports, switching to a double-round robin format, with the top two teams progressing to the elimination round.

Bren Esports will be awarded 175 VCT points and the associated prize for qualifying into Masters Berlin. No other group will be impacted and the tournament will conclude with an eight-team single elimination bracket.

After the fourth day of play concludes, a random draw will determine the seeding for the Knockout Stage. The four teams who finish first in their group will be randomly assigned to a yet-to-be-determined second place team from another group. The teams will then compete in an eight-team knockout tournament, with the first round pitting first-place teams against second-place teams.
Berlin will see familiar faces on the broadcast, with Yinsu Collins and James “Dash” Patterson taking on the desk host role. Five casting & analyst pairs will provide on-the-go commentary on the official main stream, assisted by three top-tier observers to capture the best moments out of Masters Berlin.
