VCT Pacific has released the second episode of ‘Homegrown’ a docuseries shining the spotlight on some of the staple players and dives into their story.
SOUTH KOREA – In the second episode of the ‘Homegrown’ docuseries, the spotlight shines on Công Anh “crazyguy” Ngô, tracing his journey from the early days of his esports career to his current status as the most decorated Vietnamese FPS player.
“Vietnam’s VALORANT scene may not be the most prolific, but Cong Anh Ngo never dreamed of being anything else but a professional gamer. From a young age, gaming was a very serious passion for crazyguy, despite the lack of opportunity around him. We follow crazyguy’s journey growing up, from Hanoi’s Old Quarter to being Vietnam’s greatest FPS athlete.”

Hailing from Hanoi, his name started to be familiar with the ears of international audience starting in 2015 when crazyguy and Skyred represented Asia at the DreamHack Open Stockholm event in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. His performance against European powerhouses Titan and Vexed Gaming single-handedly brought the much-needed attention the Asian region needed, sparking something great.
In the wake of his insane AWP skills, caster Anders Blume coined the hashtag #CSGO2ASIA, which initiated a movement that led us to establish CSGO2ASIA.com and later VALO2ASIA.com.
“One time, when I was in 6th grade in my secondary school, my teacher gave everyone a paper and asked us to write down our dreams growing up. Most people wrote down police officer, doctor, or something similar. I wrote down on my paper: a professional gamer. They all laughed at me, but honestly, I didn’t feel embarrassed or anything because I knew that was my dream.”
