Group Alpha is the Group of Death in VCT Pacific Stage 1.
SOUTH KOREA – Riot Games has unveiled the group distribution for VCT Pacific Stage 1, which was drawn live today at the Sangam Colosseum in Seoul following the lower final match of VCT Pacific Kickoff between T1 and DRX.
For VCT Pacific Stage 1 starting this March, twelve teams have been split into two groups of six—Group Alpha and Group Omega—based on their Kickoff performance. Each group will compete in a single round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the double-elimination Mid-Season Playoffs. The top two teams will earn a bye to the second round, while the bottom two will start in the lower bracket with a 0-1 record.
Ultimately, the top three teams from the playoffs will secure their spots at VALORANT Masters Toronto, the second international event of the season, set to take place in Canada this June.

T1 and DRX secured the top seeds for Stage 1 with their top-two finish in Kickoff. Gen.G and TALON were placed in the second seed pool, followed by Nongshim RedForce and DetonatioN FocusMe in the third, RRQ and Paper Rex in the fourth, and the final four teams—BOOM Esports, Team Secret, Global Esports, and ZETA DIVISION—in the fifth pool.
The 2024 Ascension runners-up are in for a trial by fire, thrown straight into the lion’s den. However, if their performance against eventual Kickoff finalists T1 in their VCT Pacific debut was any indication, they might just be up for the challenge.
The two previous VCT Pacific champions, Paper Rex and Gen.G, have been placed together in Group Alpha. Their title defense has never felt more at risk, especially after both teams failed to qualify for the upcoming VALORANT Masters Shanghai—a wake-up call that they must step up to avoid being surpassed by teams like DRX, T1, and others. With such a competitive lineup, Group Alpha is shaping up to be the Group of Death for those who hope to qualify for VALORANT Masters Toronto.
Meanwhile, Group Omega presents a slightly less chaotic battleground. The Korean superteam T1 lead the pack, joined by TALON, Nongshim RedForce, RRQ, Team Secret, and ZETA DIVISION.
