Vici was cut above the rest while playing as a Controller with Sengoku Gaming, ending his most recent VCL Japan Split 1 campaign as the tournament’s second-highest-rated player.
RUSSIA – Former Sengoku Gaming player “Vici” has been officially listed as the latest addition to JD Gaming (JDG), indicating his return to competitive play after seven months on the sidelines.
Vici is ready to turn the page and begin anew after his time playing in the Challengers League Japan circuit since 2022 and contributing to Sengoku Gaming’s rise to the upper echelons of competition. He was cut above the rest while playing as a Controller, ending his most recent VCL Japan Split 1 campaign as the tournament’s second-highest-rated player. The only player who seemed to overshadow him and take a bit more of the spotlight was his former teammate, Ilya “something” Petrov.

Soon after his Russian teammate, something, departed for a tempting offer to join the prestigious VCT Pacific League with Paper Rex, Vici decided to split from Sengoku Gaming. Since then, Vici has been out of the spotlight, but there have been numerous reports suggesting he had participated in several tryouts with top-tier Asian teams.
The remaining members of the JDG team are still largely unfamiliar to many. The final starting lineup is yet to be confirmed, more so considering JDG have named a total of seven players in addition to Vici.
Vici’s addition to JD Gaming is the latest in a series of high-profile signings to the Chinese circuit over the past three months, joining the likes of Kim “Secret” Ha-jin, Yu “TS” Tae-seok, and Kim “GodDead” Sung-sin, just to name a few. China is set to debut its dedicated circuit next year, complementing the existing major regions of Pacific, Americas, and EMEA. Come December, the Ascension China event will take place, with the winning team earning a spot in the League.
This sets the stage for a potential reunion between Vici and something at the highest level of VALORANT Esports, provided Vici secures a position in next year’s league, either through winning the Ascension event or by joining with one of the upcoming partnered organizations.
JDG are set to play their opening match in China Evolution Series Act II today against NewHappy at 4 PM SGT.
