DRX have officially welcomed rising Korean talent HYUNMIN as they prepare for the 2025 VCT season.
SOUTH KOREA – DRX have officially announced the signing of former Crest Gaming Zst player Song “HYUNMIN” Hyun-min. The 18-year-old joins the team as a highly anticipated duelist replacement for Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul after gaining notoriety in recent months through impressive showings in Challengers Japan and Radiant ranked matches.
Although still relatively unknown at the upper echelons of the scene, HYUNMIN was first discovered in North America in 2022, playing for Terra Esports in the lower-tier competitions alongside current Team IAM player Park “Pkm” Kang-min.
HYUNMIN made his debut in the APAC circuit in late 2023 when he joined Crest Gaming Zst to compete in Challengers Japan. In their announcement post, CGZ highlighted him as a player with tremendous firepower, noting that he had previously achieved #4 Radiant in NA ranked despite playing from Hawaii with a 100ms ping.

Despite not being able to reach the main event of Challengers Japan, HYUNMIN was clearly CGZ’s biggest source of firepower, averaging the highest ACS of 280.5 across 376 rounds and outshining every single player in the Split 2 tournament from the Premier Qualifier to the Playoffs. He consistently stood out as the best player on the server against more seasoned rivals, including SCARZ and Murash Gaming, who both made the playoff cut.
The ongoing rebuilding process at DRX represents the biggest shakeup since the Vision Strikers era, with the team parting ways with Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul and allowing Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung and Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin to seek new opportunities as restricted free agents. Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan will be the only player left in DRX who still carries the experience from the Vision Strikers days when the team was still regarded as the undeniable Kings of APAC.
DRX currently have:
