DWG KIA have been depleted to just three men following the departure of quartet players, the organization announced on Tuesday.
SOUTH KOREA – Following the expiry of their contracts, Kim “Eugene” Su-yeong, Lee “Jeong Hi” Jeong-ha, Kang “iNTRO” Seung-gyun, and Yoon “hyeoni” Hyun-seok have all parted ways with DWG KIA, according to the South Korean organization. The move was made only less than two weeks after the end of VCT Korea Stage 1 Challengers.
The decision marks the end of a chapter for DWG KIA, leaving Kim “t3xture” Na-ra as the only player remaining from the original roster signed in January of last year. Eugene, Jeong Hi, and iNTRO were long-standing members of the team, with the former, in particular, ending his 14-month long association with DAMWON, where he helped the squad cement a place in the top two by the end of 2021.
Hyeoni, on the other hand, had been with DWG KIA since December 2021 but left the squad without any presence on the server. Having zero in-game contribution during his time in DWG KIA, the once regarded as South Korea’s up-and-coming prospect will be teamless once again, however, still without a chance to impress after an underwhelming spell with NUTURN Gaming in Q4 2021.
DWG KIA most recently participated in VCT Korea Stage 1 Challengers, where they claimed a fourth finish in the playoffs. Park “exy” Geun-cheol and co. were knocked down by eventual finalists On Sla2ers and ousted by Choi “10X” Jin-woo’s HolyMolly in the Losers’ Round 2 match.
