Global Esports and their Game Changers lineup will go their separate ways following the end of VCT Game Changers APAC Elite.
INDIA – The Global Esports Phoenix players have parted ways with the organization and have chosen to go their separate ways. This announcement arrives two weeks after the conclusion of their 2023 season, where they achieved a 7-8th place in the VCT Game Changers APAC Elite event, following losses to FULL SENSE Sapphire and SCYTHE NWJ.
Global Esports now adds its name to the growing roster of organizations such as Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ Kaguya) and Orangutan (Orangutan X) stepping away from the Game Changers circuit, with a lack of available competitions.
“Our journey with the GE Phoenix ends here. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors, and we hope you all continue pushing your limits with each passing day.”

The team called it quits just over seven months into existence, having formed in March out of the core of the former Asteria roster. However, the players had already been playing together way before the announcement as they competed under the pseudonym ‘Grace Esports during the 2022 OFF//SEASON period. Under the guidance of coach Akshay “KappA” Sinkar, they emerged as champions in the Windows 11 Skyesports Grand Slam, the first all-female LAN tournament ever held in India.
GE Phoenix made waves this year as the only all-Indian roster to qualify for all three Opens as well as Elite, with their standout performance being a fourth-place finish in Open 2 after wins over THE HERO KDA and RRQ Kaguya in the playoffs.
The future of Global Esports in the Game Changers ecosystem for the upcoming season is still uncertain. This team was the only representation from India at the highest level of Game Changers all season. Although the players are branching out on their own, Saloni “Meow16K” Pawar, Akanksha “muffinloop” Sukhramani, and Syeeda “Rose” Tabassum have expressed their intention to remain a unit next season, aiming to forge a “winning team.”
“I’m grateful that GE gave me and others a chance to compete under their roof and resources,” Meow16K expressed on Twitter while revealing her future plans.
