Bilibili Gaming appoint Anaks as new head coach; promote FT
BLG turn back to Korean leadership with Anaks while promoting academy player FT to the main roster.
CHINA – Bilibili Gaming have announced the appointment of Ye "Anaks" Sang-jun as their new head coach, replacing Tang "Muggle" Shijun, who has since joined Titan Esports Club as an aim coach.
Alongside the coaching change, Yan "FT" Shuaibo has been promoted from BLG’s academy roster to the active lineup. The organization have also added Thong "balax" Chern Kwi, formerly of Global Esports, as their new analyst.
The move marks Anaks’ return to VCT CN after previously leading JDG Esports during Stage 2 of the 2024 season, where the team finished in 5th-6th place. The Korean coach brings a wealth of experience from his home region, having first started out as a player for T1 Korea in 2020 before later competing with TUBEPLE Gaming and GOnGO Prince in 2021.
Anaks transitioned into coaching in 2022, leading Maru Gaming to qualification for the East Asia Last Chance Qualifier that same year. He then spent time with DRX Academy from 2022 to 2024, helping develop talent within one of Korea’s most established VALORANT systems.
Following his stint with JDG, Anaks stepped away from competition for the 2025 season before returning with ARETE in Challengers Korea, where he guided the team to a 5th-6th place finish in Split 1.
His arrival also sees Bilibili Gaming return to a Korean head coach after previously working with Lee "bail" Sung-jae. Under bail, BLG enjoyed one of their strongest domestic runs with three podium finishes in the 2025 season, though international success continued to elude them. The organization later turned to former EDward Gaming coach Muggle, a VALORANT Champions-winning coach, but the move did not produce the expected turnaround.
BLG finished 4th in Kickoff before falling to a disappointing 9th-10th place in Stage 1, marking only the second time in the organization’s history that they missed the VCT CN playoffs. With Champions Shanghai on the horizon, the team now face growing pressure to recover quickly and avoid missing an international event for the first time in their VCT CN tenure.
Meanwhile, FT joins the main roster after gaining recent experience with BLG Academy, competing under XLB in Challengers SEA Split 2. The academy side won the Rest of SEA Qualifier before later withdrawing during the group stage, having taken down several notable teams in the region including Motiv Esports, 555, Xipto Esports, Trinity, and more.
FT primarily played Viper during that run, picking the agent in 86% of his 32 recorded maps, while also occasionally filling in on Cypher.
