DRX reveal Estrella signing from RRQ

by Juandi April 5, 2025

Park "Estrella" Gun has been acquired by DRX after his time with RRQ.

SOUTH KOREA In an unexpected move, DRX have announced the addition of former RRQ in-game leader Park "Estrella" Gun to their VCT Pacific roster.

This move marks Estrella’s return to a Korean team for the first time since his stint with Dplus KIA in 2023. The 25-year-old went on to join Indonesia-based RRQ, representing them throughout the 2024 season and the early stages of 2025 in Kickoff. As the in-game leader of his first international squad, he guided RRQ to a 5th-6th place finish in the 2024 VCT Pacific Stage 2, where they only fell to eventual winners Gen.G in the first round of playoffs.

Estrella caught RRQ’s attention with promising performances in the 2023 Korean Challengers League circuit with Dplus KIA, guiding them to back-to-back victories in the 2023 WCG Korea Split 1 and 2, with his top performance in the latter earning him the title of the team’s best player and the tournament's second-highest overall player, averaging a VLR rating of 1.20.

Dplus KIA’s Split 2 win in Seoul earned them a spot to represent Korea at the 2023 VCT Ascension Pacific in Bangkok. There, Estrella once again led the charge with a solid 1.17 VLR rating, though the team made an unexpected early exit, finishing 7th-8th after a tough group stage. This came despite a strong 2-0 victory over eventual champions Bleed Esports in the group stage.

His mid-season move also marks a reunion with his former F4Q teammate Kang "BeYN" Ha-bin, from back when the 21-year-old was on loan from DRX Prospects. That said, it’s still uncertain whether Estrella is stepping in to replace someone or simply joining as an extra piece to bring DRX back to a six-man roster.

With their latest addition, DRX are set to continue their VCT Pacific Stage 1 Regular Season campaign against Global Esports on Monday at 16:00 GMT+8 (Singapore time).

DRX now boast the following squad:

  • 🇰🇷 Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan
