RRQ announce Xan signing from Malaysia
Xan becomes the latest Malaysian player to enter VCT Pacific, joining RRQ ahead of their EWC and Stage 2 campaigns.
INDONESIA – RQ have officially announced the signing of Malaysian player Xan "Xan" Ng ahead of their VCT Pacific Stage 2 and Esports World Cup campaigns. The move makes Xan the second Malaysian player set to compete on the VCT Pacific stage in the partnership era, following Paper Rex’s Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee.
Xan arrives at RRQ with years of tier-two experience across the MY/SG and wider Southeast Asian scene. The 19-year-old Duelist/Controller first appeared on the radar in 2021 and has since spent time with several mixed Singaporean and Malaysian lineups, including No Namers, X10 Esports, Enigma Gaming, LaZe, and IGNITE. He also briefly competed with India-based Grayfox Esports in the Convergence 2023 Qualifier.
His stock continued to rise in 2025 when he became part of the NAOS Esports roster that qualified for Ascension Pacific 2025 in Bangkok. He later appeared with Team Secret’s trial roster in the SOOP VALORANT League SEA Qualifier 2025, further giving him exposure among some of the region’s more established names.
In 2026, Xan joined Motiv Esports, where the team dominated the Rest of Asia Qualifier for Challengers SEA Split 1 before going on to win the entire Challengers SEA Split 1 title with a 3-1 victory over Sharper Esports in the grand finals. However, their Split 2 campaign ended in disappointment, with MTV unable to make a deep run as their 2026 season came to a close in the Rest of SEA regional tournament.
With Motiv Esports releasing their roster early, Xan became available on the market, and RRQ have now moved to bring him in for the second half of the VCT Pacific season in Seoul.
RRQ now field a six-man roster, although Xan’s role largely overlaps with Cahya "monyet" Nugraha could hint at the team’s direction heading into Stage 2, or potentially as early as their upcoming Esports World Cup campaign.
RRQ will be hoping the addition helps them return to the level they showed last year, when they became one of Pacific’s most consistent international representatives. Their 2026 season, however, has yet to reach the same heights. The Indonesian side finished fourth at Kickoff, narrowly missing out on Masters Santiago, before placing 5th-6th in Stage 1 and falling short of Masters London.
With only one global VALORANT event left on the calendar, Stage 2 now becomes RRQ’s final chance to qualify for Champions Shanghai.
