Ryumon “Reita” Oshiro and Kohei “BlackWiz” Mikami will temporarily round out VARREL’s roster for the upcoming Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo Qualifier.
JAPAN – VARREL have temporarily enlisted currently teamless Ryumon “Reita” Oshiro who recently played for DetonatioN FocusMe, as well as Kohei “BlackWiz” Mikami on loan from NORTHEPTION ahead of the Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo Qualifier. The duo has been brought in on a temporary basis to help fill the voids created by the team’s recent overhaul.
Despite VARREL’s official starting five remainining unconfirmed for now, they have announced Jung “Bangnan” Min-u and Lim “L0B” Byung-gun post the reshuffling, retaining only Jyousuke “zepher” Matsuda from the 2023 lineup.

Reita is now a free agent, having been released by DetonatioN FocusMe on the opening day of the Transfer Window earlier this week together with Park “Seoldam” Sang-min. During his time in Seoul for the VCT Pacific League, Reita played with seven different agents, primarily in the Initiator role, even though the team ended up at the bottom of the Pacific League standings.
He will once again share the team colors with zepher, reuniting after their 2022 season together where they notably secured 5-6th position in Stage 1 and 4th in Stage 2 of the Japanese circuit.
On the other hand, BlackWiz is largely known for his longtime association with NORTHEPTION since 2022, during which he qualified for VALORANT Masters Copenhagen. Interestingly, his temporary move to VARREL brings him back together with Lim “L0B” Byung-gun. The two previously played under the AVALON Gaming banner during the initial stages of their professional careers.
The Japan Qualifier of Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo will take place between September 13-24, where a total of 17 teams will battle it out for a single main event berth. VARREL are set to face Father’s Back in the opening round before facing either IGZIST or Les Sixz subsequently.
The winners will qualify for the main event hosted at the historic Ryogoku Kokugikan Arena, joining the likes of ZETA DIVISION, FNATIC, DRX, and others for the fourth stop of the annual Red Bull event.
