The coach of the team representing Indonesia in the 2023 SEA Games has been appointed.
INDONESIA – The Indonesian Esports Central Board (PBESI) on Monday named Baskoro Dwi “roseau” Putra to lead its VALROANT national team for the upcoming 2023 SEA Games. The former Persija Esports player will be in charge of assembling the best squad possible to represent Indonesia in Pnom Penh, Cambodia.
“The assigned coaches have undergone a selection process for two months and have had at least two interviews with various components of the national team. Congratulations to all the selected coaches! Give your best for Indonesia! Unite your voices and give full support to the Indonesian Esports National Team!” the statement reads.
In SEA Games-related news, current Bigetron Arctic coach and former XcN CS 1.6 player Andrew “bali” Joseph has been appointed as Indonesia’s national team coach for CrossFire, while Jose “Rbtx” Carlo Jamir has been tasked with putting together a SIBOL VALORANT lineup to represent the Philippines.

The 29-year-old, who has been away from the scene since May last year following the end of Persija’s run in VCT 2022, arosed as the top bet to spearhead the nation’s campaign in the millennial meet, bringing with him over nine years of experience and a championship résumé from his playing days. A member of the famed TEAMnxl> lineup that dominated the Southeast Asian CS:GO scene between 2013 and 2015, roseau was also part of the Indonesia national team in the 2016 and 2022 editions of the IESF World Esports Championship.
Following a major roster shuffle at the end of 2016, the rifler went on to play under the Recca Esports side that experienced reasonable success from 2017 to 2019, out-placing his previous squad as Indonesia’s top team for the said period with former TYLOO duo Kevin “xccurate” Susanto and Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand, as well as the retired player-turned-caster Albert “FrostMisty” Giovanni. roseau most notably helped the squad to lift the ZEN Esports Network Season 1 trophy, beating the likes of Matthew “Texta” O’Rourke’s Dark Sided and Keun-chul “solo” Kang’s MVP.PK twice in the finals.
roseau transitioned to VALORANT in February 2021 with XcN Gaming and was most recently spotted competing with the now-defunct Persija Esports side that managed to reach 5-6th place in the 2022 VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers.
