The overhaul comes just two days after the conclusion of VALORANT Challengers Japan Split 1, during which they ended up nearly at the bottom securing the 7th position.
JAPAN – SCARZ have announced a major overhaul of their roster ahead of the VALORANT Challengers Japan Split 2 Advance Stage, with “Allen”, “Tempura, and Park “Only1” Dan-il all being removed from the starting lineup. The move comes as preparation for the next part of the season, where the winning team will earn a ticket to VCT Ascension Tokyo.
Allen sees his stint with SCARZ come to an end after representing the team since March of last year and qualifying for last year’s VCT Ascension Pacific, ultimately finishing second. Reflecting on his experience, Allen shared, “The memories at SCARZ are of playing in an environment where everyone in the team felt like family, with strong bonds of trust and open communication.”
The Japanese-American was retained for the 2024 season but found himself primarily on the back seat of the six-man roster, participating only in the initial three Regular Season matches of VALORANT Challengers Japan Split 1 before Tempura took his place. The next step of his career has already been decided, as he will be joining BC SWELL.

Tempura only became a part of SCARZ in October 2023 as a part of the post-Ascension overhaul, while Only1 was recruited to the team just in January of this year. In addition, analyst Shintaro “moss” Miyamoto has stepped down from SCARZ and announced his retirement after nearly four years of service to the team since the organization entered into VALORANT.
SCARZ now find themselves with only three players remaining, all of whom were the team’s top performers in the recent VALORANT Challengers Japan Split 1 during which they significantly underperformed after their victory in last year’s Split 2. John “Yoshiii” Kawakami is the sole player retained from SCARZ’s aforementioned campaign last year.
There’s currently no mention of who will be stepping in to fill the gaps in the roster, with SCARZ’s next campaign scheduled to begin a month from now.
SCARZ are now down to:
- 🇵🇭 John “Yoshiii” Kawakami
- 🇷🇺 Maxim “Lumo” Demianovskikh
- 🇯🇵 Yuzuki “MrTenzouEz” Inada
- 🇯🇵 Junya “noppo” Taniguchi (Head coach)
- 🇰🇷 Kim “Bullco” Jeong-uk (Coach)
- 🇷🇺 Daulet “Fadezis” Abilov (Coach)
