Zhan Teng “shiba” Toh will be stepping down from Paper Rex in order to complete his compulsory military service in Singapore, the organization has announced.
Zhan Teng “shiba” Toh had been playing under the Paper Rex banner for the majority of the year, having joined the squad from Louvre in May 2021. With Sova as his primary pick, shiba helped Paper Rex remain one of the highest-ranked teams in Southeast Asia, most notably qualifying for Masters 3 Berlin as the sole SEA representative after Bren Esports (now Team Secret) unable to attend, and a plethora of online tournaments.
The 20-year-old player was already out of action after he departed from the active roster following the end of Masters 3 Berlin. Wang Jing “Jinggg” Jie was brought in to fill the void, at the same time also altering the roster dynamic with the inclusion of another Duelist. Shiba’s last appearance with Paper Rex came as a substitute for Benedict “Benkai” Tan during Paper Rex’s match against Alter Ego in The Esports Club Showdown.
“Dear shiba, it’s been a pleasure! Thank you for all that you’ve given PRX and the memories we’ve shared. From everyone at Paper Rex, we wish you the best of luck with your time in the Singapore Armed Forces!” the official announcement reads.
National Service is the national policy in Singapore mandated by statutory law that requires all male Singaporean citizens and second-generation permanent residents to serve a period of up to two years of compulsory service in the uniformed services.

- 🇮🇩 Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto
- 🇮🇩 Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart
