Ryona “Tarathiel” Tan is no longer on the starting lineup of Team SMG, the organization revealed in an announcement today.
SINGAPORE – Team SMG have made the decision to place Ryona “Tarathiel” Tan on the inactive roster ahead of the upcoming VCT Game Changers APAC Open 2 tournament. The player’s future is still uncertain, with the team set to announce her replacement in the coming days.
Tarathiel joined the team in September 2022 when the organization made some minor adjustments to its Game Changers roster, mainly consisting of players from Singapore and Thailand. After her retirement in the 2022 season, she returned to the scene to become a part of Team SMG, marking her first venture outside the Celeste roster.

Under the Indonesian’s leadership, Team SMG became a strong title contender within the region, which saw them achieve a respectable 5-6th finish in the 2022 VCT Game Changers APAC Elite and secure a first-place finish in the 2023 VCT Game Changers APAC Open 1.
Team SMG is now hard-pressed to find a fifth player to fill Tarathiel’s shoes as they prepare to face Zer0 Guerrière in the first round of the VCT Game Changers APAC Open 2 on May 30.
However, recent rumors suggest that Team SMG has put pen to paper in acquiring Game Changers star Odella “enerii” Abraham. Should this potential move materializes, enerii will take the baton from Tarathiel, who was her former teammate since their time in Counter-Strike.
With the Indonesian out of the active roster, Team SMG now look as follows:
- 🇸🇬 Abigail “Kohaibi” Kong
- 🇵🇭 Kelly “shirazi” Jaudian
- 🇵🇭 Alexandria “Alexy” Francisco
- 🇵🇭 Camille “Kamiyu” Enriquez
- 🇮🇩 Ryona “Tarathiel” Tan (Inactive)
- 🇸🇬 Alex “falfalfal” Cheang (Coach)
