Rodman “Vera” Yap will be acting as a last-minute stand-in for Fancy United Esports at the AfreecaTV VALORANT League, filling in for Phan “Gin” Văn Gin.
SOUTH KOREA – Fancy United Esports have announced that former X10 Esports player Rodman “Vera” Yap will be donning their colors as a stand-in, with the Singaporean player taking the place of Phan “Gin” Văn Gin, who couldn’t secure a visa for the AfreecaTV VALORANT League.
It emerges as a tough challenge for the Vietnamese side, as they have to quickly adapt to playing with Vera before facing a group shared by Team Liquid, T1, and EDward Gaming.
The news comes after Gin was unable to acquire a South Korean visa and therefore will have to sit out the event. The momentary loss of one of the team’s best performers with whom they won the VN Qualifier together is a big hit for Fancy United Esports. The team have been striving to regain their top form ever since the departure of the now-retired Nguyễn “Nizzy” Tấn Thành.

Nonetheless, Rodman “Vera” Yap joining the team as a stand-in brings a new dynamic and hope to the team, as he is considered one of the top prospects from the MY/SG region. The AfreecaTV VALORANT League will mark his big event debut after spending the entirety of his career on MY/SG rosters, with the most notable being No Namers and X10 Esports.
Vera has been without a team since June when X10 Esports decided to drop their Singaporean roster despite enjoying considerable success in the season, securing two runners-up finishes in VCL MY/SG Split 1 and 2. In his career, he has also earned distinction by winning the 32nd Southeast Asian Games with Team Singapore. However, since his time with X10, he has struggled to find a permanent home, bouncing between domestic rosters such as the now-defunct Kizuna Esports team in the 2023 Asia Esports Festival as well as with Louvre in the 2024 Predator League Singapore.
This will be a prime opportunity for Vera to show himself against international opposition in hopes of raising his stock, where Fancy United Esports are set to face Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen’s Team Liquid in the opening round and a potential clash against T1 or EDward Gaming in the following round.
Fancy United’s lineup for the AfreecaTV VALORANT League will be:

- 🇻🇳 Nguyễn “Suka” Văn Tiến
- 🇻🇳 Lư “Crus” Huy
