Former DRX and Bleed Esports player Kim “Zest” Gi-seok will take some time away to recollect his thoughts.
SOUTH KOREA – Former DRX and Bleed Esports player Kim “Zest” Gi-seok has announced on Instagram that he will be taking an indefinite break. As he looks ahead to the 2025 season, the 23-year-old has indicated that he intends to take a break, although he hasn’t yet decided how long it will last. “I still don’t know if it will be for the whole season, but for now, I plan to take a break,” he said.
Zest found himself in a difficult position after his team’s removal from the VCT Pacific League for failing to “comply with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations under the Team Participation Agreement”.
The former DRX player also shared that he received several offers but feels “lost interest and a bit tired.” He added, “As a professional, I think it will be hard to show you all a good version of myself, so I’m trying to take some time to regroup. I apologize to those who have been waiting, and I will update you later.”

Zest joined Bleed Esports in April 2024 to strengthen their roster starting in the VCT Pacific Stage 1 tournament. Unfortunately, the 2023 Ascension Pacific champions struggled to compete in the tier-one league, finishing the season with just one victory against DetonatioN FocusMe after a hard-fought three-map series.
Recognized as APAC’s 17th Best Player at the VALO2ASIA Awards 2023, Zest is best known for his tenure with DRX Vision Strikers, having joined the team as early as June 2020. Over the following four seasons until 2023, he competed in six international tournaments, notably securing a second runners-up finish at VALORANT Champions Istanbul 2022.
