budimeisteR departs from BOOM Esports seven months after his addition, taking his leave following the team’s defeat in the grand finals of VALORANT Challengers Indonesia Split 1.
INDONESIA – BOOM Esports have announced the departure of Oliver “budimeisteR” Wangge, bringing his chapter with the organization to a close after just seven months.
The official announcement of budimeisteR’s unexpected departure comes two weeks after the team’s loss to Alter Ego in the grand finals of VALORANT Challengers Indonesia Split 1. The replacement for budimeisteR in the BOOM Esports lineup remains unknown at this point in time, although the team has additional time as they have secured a direct invite to the main event of Split 2 following their top-two finish in Split 1.
“Today, it is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to one of our VALORANT players, budimeister. In his short time here, Budi has been an exceptional player that contributed to our run at VCT Challengers Indonesia. We wish him nothing but success,” the announcement reads.

budimeisteR initially joined BOOM Esports alongside Sheldon “NcSlasher” Andersen after completing the 2023 season with Bigetron Arctic. Their arrival helped to address the gap left by the departures of veterans Gary “blaZek1ng” Dastin and Michael “SEVERiNE” Winata, who made their way to Global Esports and Revenant Esports, respectively.
However, BOOM Esports struggled to maintain the same level of performance as the previous season when they came close to reaching the finals of VCT Ascension Pacific in Bangkok, Thailand.
The new roster made their debut this year at the 2024 APAC Predator League but stumbled in the semi-finals against Japan’s FAV Gaming in a best-of-one match. Moving into the Challengers Indonesia circuit, BOOM Esports dominated the Regular Season without a single loss. However, they faltered in the final two matches, succumbing to Alter Ego who are now featuring the same roster that claimed victory in last year’s Red Bull Campus Clutch in Istanbul.
budimeisteR himself has revealed his intention to make a comeback to competitive play in the upcoming split, showing readiness to relocate and fully commit.
The 22-year-old’s exit leaves BOOM Esports with the following players:
- 🇮🇩 Rizkie “BerserX” Adla Kusuma
- 🇮🇩 Fikri “famouz” Zaki
- 🇮🇩 Hildegard “Shiro” Arnaldo
- 🇮🇩 Sheldon “NcSlasher” Andersen
- 🇰🇷 Ji “meow” Dong-jun (Head coach)
- 🇮🇩 Harry “6fingers” Tjahjadi Putra (Assistant coach)
- 🇮🇩 Fidel “fidelwow” Saputra (Analyst)
