DubsteP returns to activity after spending four months out of action following his release from Team Secret.
PHILIPPINES – Oasis Gaming have finalized their roster with the signing of former Team Secret player Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan. The 31-year-old takes the place once occupied by in-game leader Jed “Drax” Jamir, who has now transitioned to a sixth-man position in the upcoming VALORANT Challengers Philippines Split 1.
The arrival of DubsteP to OAG comes just three days before their debut match in the aforementioned event. In this inaugural game, they will face their perennial rivals, NAOS Esports, whom they were defeated by twice in the grand finals of both splits in the previous season.

DubsteP had been on the lookout for a new home since September of last year after being shown the exit door by Team Secret after a two-year stint, during which he represented the Philippines and APAC in two international events. Initially taking on the role of the team’s primary duelist, DubsteP played a role in securing a respectable third place in the 2022 VCT APAC Stage 2 Challengers and a fourth-place finish in the Last Chance Qualifier before adapting to a more flexible role during the 2023 season.
The 2023 season kicked off on a positive note for Team Secret with an impressive performance at VCT LOCK//IN beating EMEA powerhouse Team Liquid. However, the momentum didn’t carry over to the subsequent VCT Pacific League campaign, and Team Secret concluded their journey without making an international appearance, finishing with a respectable 5-6th place in the standings.
In the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), Team Secret came close but fell short against eventual champions ZETA DIVISION, missing the opportunity to secure a spot at VALORANT Champions Los Angeles.
DubsteP, recognized as the Best APAC Player in 2021 by The VALO2ASIA Awards, now makes a move back to the tier-two scene by joining Oasis Gaming. His arrival adds a wealth of experience to the team, which has consistently come close to securing victory in its regional circuit but has consistently fallen just short, particularly against domestic rivals NAOS Esports.
This marks a significant change for DubsteP as Oasis Gaming become his first team without the familiar presence of teammates Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco and Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza, individuals with whom he has shared his competitive days for the past three years under the Bren Esports and Team Secret banners. Yet, in his new venture, DubsteP will find a familiar companion in James “Retrac” Ang, who was his former Counter-Strike teammate in Mineski and ArkAngel.
Oasis Gaming now have the following lineup:
- 🇵🇭 Brheyanne “Wild0reoo” Reyes
- 🇵🇭 Xavier “xavi8k” Juan
- 🇵🇭 Mark “Markyyy” Tuling
- 🇵🇭 Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo
- 🇵🇭 Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan
- 🇵🇭 Jed “Drax” Jamir
- 🇵🇭 Jose “Rbtx” Jamir (Head coach)
- 🇵🇭 James “Retrac” Ang (Assistant coach)
- 🇵🇭 Rommuel “Eraxx” Santos (Assistant coach)
